Answer: Hello there!

The equation that Fiona wrote is y = (2/5)*x + 5 and we want to find another equation that has the same solutions.

Let's analyze what things we can change in this equation.

If we change the x-intercept, we get a parallel linear equation to the given by Fiona, and this parallel linear equation will have different solutions.

If we change the slope, the linear equation resultant will intercept the Fiona one in only one point, then these two functions will have different solutions.

Then we cant change the slope or the x-intercept if we want to have all the same solutions, then the only thing we can do is write it in a different way, but not changing it.

The equation is y = (2/5)*x + 5

we can write the 5 as 25/5, then

y= (2/5)x  25/5 = (1/5)(2x + 25)

now we multiply in both sides by 5.

5y = 2x + 25

this can be an example of Henry's equation.

jonny [76]
We proceed to graph the points and verify which is within the shaded area

so
points B and D are not within the shaded area
point C is not a solution because it is in the limit and the limits are not included
point A is inside the shaded area

therefore

the answer is
the point A

Solve the system using elimination

2x+3y=14
x+5y=14
natali 33 [55]

Answer:

x = 4 , y = 2

Step-by-step explanation by elimination:

Solve the following system:

{2 x + 3 y = 14 | (equation 1)

x + 5 y = 14 | (equation 2)

Subtract 1/2 × (equation 1) from equation 2:

{2 x + 3 y = 14 | (equation 1)

0 x+(7 y)/2 = 7 | (equation 2)

Multiply equation 2 by 2/7:

{2 x + 3 y = 14 | (equation 1)

0 x+y = 2 | (equation 2)

Subtract 3 × (equation 2) from equation 1:

{2 x+0 y = 8 | (equation 1)

0 x+y = 2 | (equation 2)

Divide equation 1 by 2:

{x+0 y = 4 | (equation 1)

0 x+y = 2 | (equation 2)

Collect results:

Answer: {x = 4 , y = 2

If i travel 100 miles in 4 hours what is that unit rate
lutik1710 [3]
100 miles in 4 hours. The unit rate would be 25 miles per hour.

100miles / 4hrs = 25 miles per hour

Therefore, for every hour you travel, you will gain 25 miles. Or for every 25 miles you travel, you've spent 1 hour traveling it.

y = 25x
where y is the total miles traveled, 25 is the constant unit rate, and x is the number of hours traveled.

for example: you traveled for 8 hours and you want to know how long you've traveled while maintaining the rate of 25mph. Just use the formula

y = 25x
y = 25(8)
y = 200 miles.  you have traveled 200 miles in 8 hours.

Answer:

48 ≥ 4x + 2y

44 ≥ 2x + 2y

    First, we will look at assembling hours.

"The standard model requires 4 hours to assemble [and] the artisan model requires 2 hours to assemble"

    We also know they have 48 hours per day for assembly, x is standard model and y is artisan model.

48 = 4x + 2y

    Lastly, they do not need to make that many, but they can so we will use greater than or equal to.

48 ≥ 4x + 2y

    Now let us look at finishing hours.

"The standard model requires ... 2 hours for finishing touches. The artisan model requires ... 2 hours for finishing touches."

    We also know they have 44 hours per day for assembly, x is standard model and y is artisan model.

44 = 2x + 2y

    Again, they do not need to make that many, but they can so we will use greater than or equal to.

44 ≥ 2x + 2y
