Answer:

1) Personification 2) Hyperbole 3) Alliteration

Explanation:

Personification is when you take an item, such as the moon, and give it human-like characteristics. The moon cannot actually dance, obviously. Therefore, this is an example of Personification.

Hyperbole is an exaggeration. They are not actually starving, they just mean they are very hungry.

Alliteration is when three or more consecutive words begin with the same consonant. (Assonance is the same, but begins with a vowel.) In this sentence, most of the words begin with the same letter "S".

Sort the sentences in this story so that it is in proper chronological order. We waited for two hours, but no birds came. My sis
cestrela7 [59]

Answer:

Check the answer in the explanation (below)

Explanation:

Rearranging the sentences in this story so that it is in proper chronological order, we have:

Every March 19, the swallows return to the Mission in San Juan Capistrano, California. This year, my family and I drove down to the mission to see if the swallows really do come back. While we were driving, we heard a loud bang. The car had a flat tire. My dad steered the car to the shoulder on the freeway, and he and my older brother Kyle got out to change the tire. While they were changing the tire, it started to rain. Dad and Kyle got soaking wet. After they finished, Dad and Kyle got into the car, and we drove on. We arrived at the mission at 12:30 and found a parking spot. A large crowd of people was waiting for the swallows to arrive at the mission. Of course, it stopped raining. We waited for two hours, but no birds came. My sisters became restless. Finally my Dad said, "Let's go, they aren't coming this year." As we walked out to the parking lot, my sister Abby looked up. "Look at all the birds!" she exclaimed. It was indeed the swallows. And to think we almost drove away and missed the swallows' return to Capistrano.

Having rearranged the story, we can easily follow the flow of the narrative.

Benefits and limitations of using euphemism at work.
leva [86]

Answer:

These words give the same basic meaning as direct language, but they have a very different style. Americans often use euphemisms when talking about sensitive topics – death, love, body processes, anything they might not want to speak of directly. ... The term adult beverages is a euphemism. So the essence of euphemism lies in the use of inoffensive words or phrases instead of offensive or harsh ones. Euphemism has the function of politeness and beautification, which is helpful to develop benign communication. Accordingly, it's widely used in our daily communication to express something unpleasant.
