Answer:

(a) $24 per unit; $136,000

(b) $544,000

Explanation:

(a) Computation of variable cost per unit and the total fixed cost

Let Y1 = $424,000 and Y2 = $640,000,

X1 = 12,000 and X2 = 21,000

variable cost per unit (b) = (Y2 - Y1) ÷ (X2 - X1 )

                                          = ($640,000 - $424,000) ÷ (21,000 - 12,000)

                                          = $24  per unit

Total fixed cost:

                  Y2 - bX2 = Y1 - bX1

640000 - 24 × 21000 = 424000 - 24 × 12000

                  $136,000  = $136,000

(b) Computation of total cost for 17000 units of production

Total cost = [variable cost per unit × units produced ] + total fixed cost

                 = [24 × 17000] + 136000

                 = $544,000.

Consider a production line with five stations. Station 1 can produce a unit in 9 minutes. Station 2 can produce a unit in 10 min
qaws [65]

Answer:

Bottle neck stations our the ones which take more time than the previous station because of which units received per hour our more than units created per hour creating a bottleneck.

In this case Station 2 is taking more time than station 1. (10>9)

Station 3 has 2 machines so although one machine takes more time than station one because of having 2 machines the time can be divided by 2 so there is no bottle neck here. (6<10)

Station 4 takes less time than station 2. (5<6)

Station 5 takes more time than station 4. (8>5) but station 5 is not a bottle neck because it is the last station so it is not slowing the units from going on to  another station or the next station, because the good is finished here there is no bottle neck

The only bottle neck is station 2 because it takes more time to send one unit to the next unit compared to receiving one unit from station 1.

The entry on October 01 is to reflect the increase in Petty Cash from $ 250 to $ 300. i.e the incremental effect is only $ 50. This is because for the regular replenishment that was done on September 30, the following entry would have been recorded:

Petty Cash - Debit   $ 232

Cash          - Credit   $ 232

The entry for recording the petty cash expenses would be as follows;

Merchandise Inventory           debit     $ 137

Miscellaneous expenses        debit      $ 22

Petty Cash                               credit     $ 232

A pension plan that requires the employer to make annual pension contributions, with no promise to employees regarding future pe
Sergeeva-Olga [200]

Answer:

Defined Contribution

Explanation:

Retirement plans that re employer sponsored are broken into two categories. The first is called the defined- contribution plan while the second is known as defined-benefit plan. The main difference is that defined contribution seeks the cooperation of both the employer and employee to invest and contribute towards retirement while defined benefits is a guarantee of a specified amount in retirement for the employee

Defined Contribution

This retirement package requires an employee to make an investment of a fixed amount from his/her salary to his retirement plan while the employer is also expected to either match the amount contributed by the employee or promise a monthly/annual contribution of a particular percentage to the retirement package. This way the employer makes no promise of future pension but commits to a regular contribution
