Answer:

(a) $24 per unit; $136,000

(b) $544,000

Explanation:

(a) Computation of variable cost per unit and the total fixed cost

Let Y1 = $424,000 and Y2 = $640,000,

X1 = 12,000 and X2 = 21,000

variable cost per unit (b) = (Y2 - Y1) ÷ (X2 - X1 )

                                          = ($640,000 - $424,000) ÷ (21,000 - 12,000)

                                          = $24  per unit

Total fixed cost:

                  Y2 - bX2 = Y1 - bX1

640000 - 24 × 21000 = 424000 - 24 × 12000

                  $136,000  = $136,000

(b) Computation of total cost for 17000 units of production

Total cost = [variable cost per unit × units produced ] + total fixed cost

                 = [24 × 17000] + 136000

                 = $544,000.

Answer:

  • Tax status = Ordinary Asset
  • Gain = $60,000

Explanation:

As the company expensed the asset fully in the year of purchase instead of capitalizing it, the asset is an ordinary asset not a capital one which is capitalized. That is the tax status.

The gain on an ordinary asset is the amount that it was sold for which in this case is $60,000.

Tax status = Ordinary Asset

Gain = $60,000

I believe the answer is: B. Making sure that your records match your bank’s records.

During this process, it is very common to see some difference between your records and the bank's. This could be caused by occurrence such as outstanding check, mistakes during recording, insufficient funds, etc. In order to fix this, you need to make an adjustment to find out why the difference occurs.

Answer:

Annual deposit= $4,143.66

Explanation:

Giving the following information:

You need to have saved $1,000,000 in 30 years. You can invest in a retirement account that guarantees you a 12% annual return.

To calculate the annual deposit needed to achieve the objective, we need to use the following formula:

FV= {A*[(1+i)^n-1]}/i

A= annual deposit

Isolating A:

A= (FV*i)/{[(1+i)^n]-1}

A= (1,000,000*0.12)/ [(1.12^30)-1]= $4,143.66
