To many historians, Ramesses II may be the greatest figure and most highly-regarded pharaoh of the Egyptian Empire.

Since taking the throne in his early teens, he commanded the construction of plenty of cities, temples and monuments. Ramesses also led several succesful campaigns on Syria, Nubia and Libya.
