Answer:

(A) Cost of equity= 15.74%

(B) WACC = 12.86%

Explanation:

Palencia paint corporation has a 35% debt from it's target capital structure and 65% common equity

The before-tax cost debt is 10%

Marginal tax rate is 25%

Po is $22.00

Do is $2.25

Constant rate(g) is 5%

(A) The cost of common equity can be calculated as follows

= [Do(1+g)/Po] + g

=[2.25(1+0.05)/22] + 5%

= [2.25(1.05)/22] + 5%

= 2.3625/22 + 5%

= 0.1074+5%

= 0.1074×100+5%

= 10.74%+5%

Cost of equity = 15.74%

(B) The WACC can be calculated as follows

= weight of debt×after-tax cost of debt + weight of equity×cost of equity

= (35%)(10%)(1-25%) + (65%)(15.74%)

= (35%)(10%)(1-0.25) + (65%)(15.74%)

=(35%)(10%)(0.75) + (65%)(15.74%)

= 2.63% + 10.23%

= 12.86%

Hence the cost of equity is 15.74% and the WACC is 12.86%

You are planning to save for retirement over the next 25 years. To do this, you will invest $820 per month in a stock account an
alina1380 [7]

Answer:

The withdraw amount is "11,227.42".

Explanation:

The given values are:

In stock account,

PMT = $820

Interest rate = \frac{10.2 \ percent}{12}

N = 300

PV = 0

In Bond account,

PMT = $420

Interest rate = \frac{6.2 \ percent}{12}

N = 300

PV = 0

Now,

By using the FV (Future value) function, the value in Stock account will be:

= FV(rate,nper,pmt,[pv],[type])

= 1,125,795.30

By using the FV (Future value) function, the value in Stock account will be:

= FV(rate,nper,pmt,[pv],[type])

= 300,181.3321

After 25 years,

The value throughout the account, will be:

= 300,181.3321 + 1,125,795.30

= 1,425,976.63

By using the PMT function, we can find the with drawling amount. The amount will be:

= PMT(rate, nper, pv, [fv], [type])

= 11,227.42

A firm wants to minimize the total cost of producing 100 tons of dynamite. The firm uses two factors of production, chemicals an
11Alexandr11 [23.1K]

Answer:

D) the production of an additional unit of dynamite costs the same regardless of whether chemicals or labor are used.

Explanation:

Average total cost (ATC) per unit will be lowest where ATC curve intersects marginal curve (MC). At that point producing an additional unit of dynamite will cost the same no matter which combination of inputs (chemicals or labor) is used. At this point, production costs will be minimized, and then they will rise again (ATC curve is U-shaped).

Which are not allowable tax deductions?
xz_007 [3.2K]

Non-allowable tax deductions are <em>A. Entertainment expenses</em>

  • Allowable tax deductions include the expenses that a taxpayer incurs, which reduce the tax liability when using itemized deductions.  Donations to charity, medical and educational expenses are allowable tax deductions.  Though, these deductions have limits.

  • The taxpayer cannot deduct these expenses above the approved limits.  Unlike allowable tax deductions, non-allowable tax deductions cannot reduce a taxpayer's tax liability.

  • Entertainment expenses (business-related) have completely been eliminated as allowable deductions from 2018 fiscal year.

Thus, a taxpayer cannot deduct expenses incurred for entertainment of any form.
