Answer:

(D) The desire to contain communism in developing parts of the world.

Explanation:

To start, you have to know a thing or two about wars with the US. JFK was president during the Cuban Missile Crisis, he attempted to repel communism and had mild success. Then after that came Lyndon B Johnson aka LBJ, he tried to repel communism in Vietnam, and had mild success as well. Then Nixon came after and ended the Vietnam war but the Cold War was still happening, which was against communism aka USSR. Then there's Gerald Ford, I have no idea what he did but he probably continued the trend of being against communism.

TLDR

It reflects the US against communism during the 20th century.

Compare anaconda plan and souths plan
Strike441 [17]

Answer:

the north: U.S. General-in-Chief Winfield Scott's plan to defeat the Confederacy: blockade the southern and eastern coasts, seize control of the Mississippi River so as to break the Confederacy in two, and then strike from all sides at once.

the south: a strategy of winning by not losing, of wearing out a better equipped foe and compelling him to give up by prolonging the war and making it too costly.

This consisted of defending the Confederate homeland by using interior lines of communication to concentrate dispersed forces against an invading army and, if opportunity offered, to go over to the offensive, even to the extent of invading the North.
