Answer: Diplomacy.

Diplomatic sanctions are issued by countries or by the United Nations. These sanctions trigger the reduction or removal of diplomatic ties, such as embassies and consulates. The severance of diplomatic relations is one of the measures contained in Article 41 of the UN Charter, and have historically been one of the most frequently used sanctions.

What is gained by making the film a flashback as opposed to the way it is presented in the book?
hram777 [196]
A flashback gives more of a reflective feel...that the author is almost reliving that certain experience. If you look into the flashback a little more, it could be biased because the character could just be remembering what he/she WANTS to remember, rather than what ACTUALLY happened. Comparing the actual chain of events in the book and viewing the character's flashback in a film is a great way to see those little differences in perspective.
