Batik is a technique of painting textiles with a wax-resisting method. It is mainly used in Indonesia but can also be found in Malaysia.

<u>Indonesian batik is usually ornamented, with plenty of large and detailed decorations</u>. <u>The colors are dark and deep</u>. The design can be influenced by religion. Also, the way of making is different – <u>Indonesian batik is made by artists sitting down and drawing.</u>

<u>Malaysian batik, on the other hand, is vividly decorated with bright and vibrant colors. It has big, floral designs.</u> It is also done by the method of <u>cloth being secured on the frame, and the artists standing up while working on the drawing.</u>
