Photographing during the midday can produce all of the above because the camera is usually sensitive to these lights and you could find shade, use filters, or work with natural reflectors.
I would say its all of the above... shadows become more defined...its harder to focus a camera in the day due to the contrast of colors so it becomes more blurry...and in natural light colors seem brighter and more I hope this helps!!!
