In “A Sound of Thunder,” Eckels dies because, Travis shoots him for disrupting history.

Answer: Option A.

Explanation:

‘A Sound of Thunder’ is a science fiction novel written by Ray Bradbury which depicts how in future time travel becomes a reality and the effects such advancement can have on human beings.

In the novel, Eckels is a hunter who travels 60 million years back in time to hunt a Theropod Dinosaur. Before he travels back in time, Eckels was strictly told by Travis to follow all the rules and no action should cause any change in the past.

But unfortunately, Eckels killed a buttery from an ancient forest by stepping on it. This further lead to a ripple effect because of which everything in the present was set in motion, and that was the time when Travis shoots Eckels in the office itself.
