I believe 3 is asking you why animals die quicker than usual.  And 4 is probably asking What does Old Major think will fix his problems.  You put in what he thinks will fix whatever problems he is encountering, and then it says Do you think it will work?  Why?  Then you just answer on whether you think his solution will work for him or not, followed by your reasoning.  Hope this helped!
