In a response of 2-3 sentences, provide one detail or fact you found in your research and list the required source information.
Veseljchak [2.6K]

Answer:

One fact that I found out during my research was that some cells have the ability to move their flowers in the direction of the Sun while others do not. Sunflower and other flowers which belong to the family Asteraceae show such kind of behaviour. These flowers might have a random orientation at night. But at the time of morning, they turn east towards the sun and follow its direction throughout the day.

Which sentences in this excerpt from John Steinbeck's "Symptoms" address the theme of soldiers being reluctant to talk about the
igomit [66]
The sentences which express the reluctance of the soldiers to talk about their experience in war are as follows:
1. If they had been reticent men it would have been different, but some of them were talkers and some were even boasters.
2. They would discuss their experiences right up to the time of battle and then suddenly they wouldn't talk anymore.
3. It was thought that what they had seen or done was so horrible that they didn't want to bring it back to haunt them or their listeners. But many of these men had no such consideration in any other field.

Looking at the sentences written above, it will be seen that the statements are basically expressing the reluctance of the men of war to engage in discussions that have to do with the war. Although many of them are talkatives and talk very well when other topics are been discussed, they become quiet when the discussions turn to that of war. This shows that they are not interested in sharing their experience of war.

Choose the sentence that contains a misplaced modifier.
cestrela7 [59]

The correct answer is sentence C.

A misplaced modifier is a word, phrase or clause which is wrongly distant from the word it modifies or describes. As a result, the phrase leads to confusion, a double meaning or ambiguity.

In this example, the misplaced modifier is "Numbered A26-A30," because it is separated from the word it modifies, which is "seats." Thus, it is not clear whether the people or the seats are numbered.

The right version of the same sentence is:

They found their eats numbered A26-A30 and got ready for the game.
