The three countries that fought for control over North America would be Spain, France, and England. The different countries wanted part of the North American land. France ended up in the northern part of North America, which is now Canada. England took hold of the middle of North America. Spain took the southern parts of North America, which is now Mexico. They all controlled different parts of North America. Because of the lands that they had, it formed into what North America looks like today.
