Answer: Chromosomes

Reason: Chromosomes are very important and we have them, animals have them, and even plants. They carry genetic information (or DNA) which helps with genes. Chromosomes also contain proteins and nucleotides. They go through two process : Mitosis, and meiosis. I'm sure you'll learn about this as you go through this unit. Also a heads up: You'll learn about the difference between meiosis and mitosis: Meiosis is about gametes cell (or sex cells), and mitosis is about somatic cells (or body cells). But don't worry , you'll get this and in high school, they will talk more deep about this unit.

Hope this helps!!

In flies, red eyes (r) are dominant to brown eyes (r). a heterozygous fly is crossed with homozygous recessive fly.
nadezda [96]

50% of offspring will have brown eyes

Explanation:

A heterozygous individual will have the genotype Rr while an individual who is homozygous recessive will have the genotype rr. A cross between the two will result in offspring with phenotype Rr and rr in the ratio of 1 : 1. This can be observed from the Punnet square attached. The same is the case for the phenotype. The ration of brown eyes to red eyes will be approximately 1 : 1
