So in the case of emmet till, he was just a 14 year old african american who was "accused" of "flirting" with a white women. Was is the true? probly not. BUT he was still kidnapped by a group of white man and was lynched. Btw lynched is a illegal public execution( google it, no words can describe how awful it is) He was given NO TRIAL or ANYTHING. It was murder and a HUGE unjustice to a kid.

In Tom's case, he is accused of rape of a white women (It wasnt rape, she came on top of him, but was ashamed so she didnt admit it) He was given a trial, but no real chance(It didnt matter if he was able to go to court, the verdict would say he is guilty NO MATTER the evidence, because he is black)

Tom was sentenced to death but killed for "attempting to escape" and shot 17!! times (over-kill)

in Both cases, they didnt stand a chance because of the prejudice. No matter what, they would have been found guilty(even if they did not do anything at all) because their skin.

The Bat Poet
Vlada [557]

The poem creates a scary, shivery feeling because the bat and the chipmunk are afraid of the owl. I know this because in the story it said, ““It’s terrible, just terrible! Is there really something like that at night?”

The bat said: “If it weren’t for that hole in the oak he’d have got me.”

The chipmunk said in a determined voice: “I’m going to bed earlier. Sometimes when there’re lots of nuts I stay out till it’s pretty dark; but believe me, I’m never going to again.”” The bat and the chipmunk were explaining their encounter with the owl. This is how it explains that they are afraid of the owl.

How does Mercutio act as a foil for Romeo?
zzz [600]

Answer:

Mercutio, the witty skeptic, is a foil for Romeo, the young Petrarchan lover. Mercutio mocks Romeo's vision of love and the poetic devices he uses to express his emotions: Romeo, Humors! ... He advocates an adversarial concept of love that contrasts sharply with Romeo's idealized notion of romantic union.
