  • When standing far way from an earthquake the first of all the waves activity that you will notice is that of p-waves being primary these waves travel fast and have the ability to be transferred through the solids, liquids and gas mediums.
  • They are produced near to the surface by alterations and compactions as it has a higher velocity and thus first to be recorded by the seismographs. Also, primary waves from wave shadow zones i.e are found from 103 to 142 degrees under the surface of the earth.
  • They can produce small tremors that can be felt for a larger distance in the form of vibrations.
