  • She was born in November 1751 and lived like any other woman until she married John Corbin in 1772.  Both fought British troops.
  • Her husband was in the First Artillery Unit in Pennsylvania, and Margaret was a follower of military camps.
  • When her husband was sent to battle, she joined him. She fired from cannon with him.
  • The husband died, and she continued to fight actively. She herself was wounded in the chin, chest and arm and had to give up due to injuries. She moved to Philadelphia and received a salary from the military.
