An extended-release medication is a drug with a different mechanism of release and action. The drug is designed to be released slowly over a course of time. It would not be a problem to crush an immediate-release drug but the nurse should not crush the extended-release opioid. If the patient receives this opioid medication crushed, the entire quantity of the drug will be at once released and active in its body. This could cause overdose or severe side-effects from the high dosage.

The ear functions because of what?
AveGali [126]
Ear is a sensory organ responsible for hearing and listening. It is connected by the auditory nerve which serves as the messenger of information from the sense organ to the brain specifically in the primary auditory cortex.

The ear functions because of its structure that displays and initiates many transformation and accommodation of sound waves to able to translate them and understand these sensations for sound acuity. The pinna, the eardrum, the cochlea and the most important part of the ear is the hairlike structures in the cochlea which transduces these sound waves into meaningful information (perception).

tatyana61 [14]

Answer: B Phospholipid bilayer

Explanation:

If the lipid bilayer is broken, the internal organelles and the cytoplasm of the cell are dispersed, since this layer makes up the cell membrane, cellulose is part of the structure of the wall of plant cells, so the response A does not is correct, answer C is false because actin filaments participate in the contraction of muscle fiber and not membrane, answer D is incorrect because nuclear pores have as a function the passage of substances to the nucleus and the response E is incorrect because the starch is a carbohydrate, which has plants in reserve to be consumed.
