Here are some options Truman had to weigh before dropping the atomic bombs on Hiroshima and Nagasaki.

- If Truman did not drop the bomb, then the Allied forces would have to do a full scale invasion on mainland Japan. This would be very similar to the Normany invasion used in the European theater during World War II. This was projected to cause millions of casualties between the Allied and Axis powers.

- Dropping the bomb would most likely result in unconditional surrender from Japan. The Allied forces gave Japan the opportunity to do this after the Potsdam Conference. However, the Japanese refused to an unconditional surrender.

- Using the atomic bomb would change warfare forever. This bomb would bring in a new age of technology and destruction that the world has never seen before.

What promoted president Wilson to bring the United States into world war 1
kozerog [31]
When addressing this question, there are two things that every history teacher is happy to see. The sinking of the Lusitania by the Germans was a spark along with the Zimmerman Telegraph by the Germans in an attempt to spark issues between Mexico an de the United States, this is when the United States joined the war. The most important moralist of all was President Woodrow Wilson—the man who dominated decision making so totally that the war has been labelled, from an American perspective, "Wilson's War". In 1917 Wilson won the support of most of the moralists by proclaiming "a war to make the world safe for democracy.
