The way to recognize a piece of writing as fiction is that it's based on an invented story.

Fiction is a Latin word 'fictio' which means "The act of fashioning, molding or making." Fiction refers to the literature which is created by imagination and is not presented through facts. However, fiction can be based on a true situation or story. Short story, novel, and novella are the types of literature in the fiction genre.

bazaltina [42]

Answer: dreams and ambition by using metaphors.

Explanation: As you know, a metaphor is acomparison between things that are not related with each other at first sight, that is why that In the given excerpt from Act II of "Hamlet" by William Shakespeare, we can see the use of metaphors to compare and describe dreams (by comparing them to ambition and shadow: "Which dreams, indeed, are ambition" and "A dream itself is but a shadow") and ambition (by comparing it to a shadow's that can be: "and I hold ambition of so airy and light a quality that it is but a shadow’s shadow". Hope this helps.

I'm stuck on what to write for freedom similes and metaphors? help? Thanks!
spin [16.1K]
Freedom related similes and metaphors? Let me think.

- "Freedom is like a free bird" (because it can do freely whatever it wants without noone stopping him)
- "A free slave is like a bird whose been set free from it's cage"
- "Actors and rich men are caged in a prison like locked up birds with no freedom"

I don't have the slightest idea about what to write for metaphors. But, i'll send you a link.

The words first, furthermore, and finally in the topic sentences are called __________.
iris [78.8K]

Answer:

Hi! The answer is Transition Words.

Explanation:

What are the components of good transition sentences? They make an explicit connection between ideas, sentences, and paragraphs.

Good transitions use specific words. Try to avoid using pronouns like “this” to refer to an entire idea because it is not always clear who or what

“this” refers to.
