Answer:

English Civil War history influenced New England before the American Revolution. English history influenced the thinking of American colonials, so that Americans in the 1700’s repeated the same arguments that Englishmen used against King Charles I and his use of taxation and an army in the 1600’s.

Answer and Explanation:

Prior to the American Revolution, the American colonists were well aware that the English Revolution (period of the English Civil Wars) occurred because parliamentarian John Hampden inspired people against paying ship tax which King Charles (former King of England, Scotland, and King of Ireland) requested for, without approval from the British parliament.

Inspired by the English Revolution, and equipped with knowledge of how English laws and parliament work, the American colonists (who were actually Englishmen) in the thirteen colonies believed that, because they didn’t have any direct representation in the British Parliament, it was illegal according to the Bill of Rights (1689), for the parliament to pass laws (such as the Sugar Act and Stamp Act) on colonists and ask request that they pay tax.

Summarize three significant events during the civil rights movements in the 1950s and 1960s. What did these events help achieve?
Len [333]

These are three significant events during the civil rights movement, as well as an explanation of what these events helped achieve:

  • The case Brown v. Board of Education took place in May, 1954. In this case, the Supreme Court ruled that segregation in public schools was against the Constitution. This helped achieve more integration among white and black people. It also emphasized the idea that people from all races deserve the same rights.
  • In September, 1957, President Eisenhower signed the Civil Rights Act of 1957 into law. This document ensured that no person was deprived from the right to vote, regardless of their skin color.
  • Throughout 1961, black and white activists took part of the "Freedom Rides." They visited the South and attempted to use "whites-only" restrooms or lunch counters. The greatest benefit of this was the fact that it drew international attention to the civil rights movement.

In order to pay its war debt, Germany
Strike441 [17]

Answer:

In 1924, the Dawes Plan reduced Germany's war debt and forced it to adopt a new currency. Reparations continued to be paid through a strange round robin: The U.S. lent Germany money to pay reparations, and the countries that collected reparations payment used that money to pay off United States debts.
