Book A: 120 pages Book B: 170 pages Book C: 90 pages Kevin and Dashawn were both assigned reading from books A, B, and C above.

Kevin completed 40% of Book A, 30% of Book B, and 10% of Book C. Dashawn completed 50% of Book A, 20% of Book B, and 30% of Book C. How many pages did each student read?

Answer:

Kevin:

Book A------> 40% × 120

= 48 pages

Book B------> 30% × 170

= 51 pages

Book C------> 10% × 90

= 9 pages

Total------> 48+51+9

= 108 pages

Dashawn:

Book A------> 50% × 120

= 60 pages

Book B------> 20% × 170

= 34 pages

Book C------> 30% × 90

= 27 pages

Total------> 60+34+27

= 121 pages

Solve the value of y for the given values of x: 4x = 3y - 7; x= 4,5,6
julia-pushkina [17]
Thhe easiest way would be to solve for y first
4x=3y-7
add 7
4x+7=3y
divide both sides by 3
(4x+7)/3=y

try each
x=4
(4(4)+7)/3=y
(16+7)/3=y
(23)/3=y
7 and 2/3=y
(4,7.66666)

x=5
(4(5)+7)/3=y
(20+7)/3=y
(27)/3=y
9=y
(5,9)

x=6
(4(6)+7)/3=y
(24+7)/3=y
(31)/3=y
10 and 1/3=y
(6,10.333)

(4,7.66666)
(5,9)
(6,10.333)

when x=4, y=7 and 2/3
when x=5, y=9
when x=6, y=10 and 1/3

Determine whether each table represents a linear, quadratic, exponential function.
Nesterboy [21]

Answer:

A: Exponential

B: Quadratic

C: Linear

Step-by-step explanation:

Let analyse each table

  • Table A

X            Y              ΔY/ΔX

1             5               xxxxxx

2            11            11 - 5 = 6

3           29             29 - 11 = 18

4           83             83 - 29 = 54

.....................

We can see that, [ ΔY/ΔX ]   increases at the fastest rate out of all functions, so it must be exponential function

  • Table B

X            Y                 ΔY/ΔX            Δ^2Y/ΔX^2

0             5                 xxxxxx              xxx

1              7                 7 - 5 = 2            xxx

2             13               13 - 7 = 6           6-2 = 4

3             23              23 - 13 = 10       10-6 = 4

..............................

It is a quadratic because Δ^2Y/ΔX^2 = 4 and are constant for all values

  • Table C

X            Y                 ΔY/ΔX

3             20               xxxxxx

6             18                 2 / 3

9             16                 2 / 3

15            12                 2 / 3

..............

It is a linear because ΔY/ΔX = 2/3 are constant for all values

The length of chen’s office is 15.5 feet and the width is 7.8 feet find of the office
Dafna11 [192]

Answer:

The area of Chen's office (if that's what you're looking for) is 120.9 feet

Step-by-step explanation:

All I did was a = lw, the formula for finding the area of something using length and width

a = lw

a = 15.5 × 7.8

a = 120.9

Hope this helped.
