The correct answer is both used mass protests to get their message to the leaders and the public.

One similarity between civil rights activists of the 1950s and 1960s and antiwar activists of the 1960s and 1970s was that both used mass protests to get their message to the leaders and the public.

Activists were not always listened by the government of the citizens until they decided to take the streets and organize march and protests to capture the attention of the leaders, the Media, and the citizens. That was the case of the civil rights activists in the 50s and 60s, when Martin Luther King Jr,, for instance, decided to participate in the Selma march or the famous March on Washington that attracted thousands of people to Washington D.C. and national media that covered the event. The same situation applied to the antiwar protesters of the 60s and 70s that, for instance, reunited thousands of people in the streets of Washington D.C. to protest against the Vietnam War.
