You will be provided with a list of notable works that address the given theme below the prompt, but you can also choose to discuss any "work of literary merit." Therefore all of the options above are correct EXCEPT option D. Option D, is not going to help you for the last part of the essay because for the last part you need actual writing pieces of literature to compare, not just novels and plays.
