Well people looked differently at the Japanese, and it helped start the war. 
It killed alot of people and alot of our weapons were destroyed due too  the Japanese.

Hawaiian's and America overall were more on guard and scared for any attacks. Any thing could happen seeing as there was no invisible shield. It started to get into paranoia.
