Answer:

The correct answer is B: Congress declared war on Japan.

Explanation:

In 1941, Japan occupied Indochina and acquired valuable sources of material goods and materials. Their next plan was to attack East India, because of its oil sources. The US responded to this by an oil embargo that particularly hit the Japanese Navy. The Japanese government decided to occupy East India, although it brought them an armed conflict with Britain and the US.

As a further warning, the US government had moved most of its Pacific fleet from San Diego to Pearl Harbor. That was a great opportunity for Japan to gain dominance in the Pacific and conquer the rest of Asia.

On December 7, 1942, the US base (Pearl Harbor) was attacked by Japanese aircraft which damaged a large number of ships and aircraft. This attack, carried out without a formal war declaration, caused great anger among the American public and the Congress decided the USA should be involved in world events and declared war on Japan.

How did Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. and Malcom X differ in their approaches to gaining civil rights?
morpeh [17]
Martin Luther King Jr. believed in peaceful protests. He led many non-violent organizations and protests, such as the March on Washington and the Montgomery Bus Boycott. He wanted everyone to be equal. Malcolm X, the head of the Nation of Islam, on the other hand believed that blacks were a superior being and that they didn't have to listen to what the white man said. He believed that they should show their superiority by any means possible even if that meant violence had to be used.

How was the Puritan church involved in the Salem witch trials of the 1690s?
Alekssandra [29.7K]
These guys basically plucked from a handful of "sinful wrongdoers" that they believed were to be punished by their own god, and yet took things into their hands. They'd accuse any woman as of being a witch. A servant girl, a sick old lady married to her servant, a homeless begger. And so forth. They played the game telephone and spread lies about anyone and everyone resulting in innocents dying.

Identify the major accomplishments of Spain
photoshop1234 [79]

Answer:

Philip II’s accomplishments originated him as a very well known king. Philip II was a hard-working ruler who was ushered in the Golden Age of Spain, being the most powerful nation. He was the most powerful monarch, he also helped the Catholic Church persecute Protestants during the Counter-Reformation. His father, Charles V, ceded the duchy of Milan (1540), the kingdoms of Naples and Sicily (1554), the Netherlands (1555), and Spain and its overseas empire (1556) to Philip II. In 1556, Phillip II made his first major decision as a monarch for his country. There was a Protestant uprising in the Netherlands, in 1567, he sent the Spanish army to put them down. Philip made use of the Spanish Inquisition to control his people. The Spanish Armada of 1588 was an attempt by Phillip of Spain to conquer England. Phillip, who had been married to Queen Mary, was angry that her sister, Queen Elizabeth had refused his proposal of marriage, he was also infuriated that England had returned to Protestantism. Phillip planned an invasion of England; he would send his Spanish Armada of 131 ships and 17,000 men to France. Here his armada would collect a further 16,000 Spanish soldiers who had been fighting in Holland. The fleet was then to cross the English and defeat the armies of Queen Elizabeth's England.
