Which word describes best the voice of the excerpt from The Absolutely True Diary of a Part-Time Indian? realistic formal self-d
Svetllana [295]
The word that would most likely describe the voice of the book 'The Absolutely True Diary of a Part-Time Indian would definitely be self-depreciating. Yes, the story is realistic as it is based on a true story but through out the whole book he is critical of him-self and uses humor to hide emotions and depreciate himself. This can be concluded from the text and the illustrations in the book.

Hope this helps! If you have any other questions or would like further explanation just let me know! :)

How do most adaptations differ from the original text of the story Frankenstein by Mary Shelley?
Luda [366]
It depends on what adaptations you're looking at but I'd say some significant differences across the board are the portrayals of the monster. In the books, the monster can speak eloquently and read as well while he mostly grunts and struggles with words in the movie adaptations.
