Indeed Ashoka not just a great ruler but a great emperor ever in the Indian history. No king have ruled such a big empire besides an Ashoka not even Akbar & Aurangazeb. He spread teachings of Lord Buddha in the entire sub continent of India. He no doubtedly ruled over the big part of the eternal world.
