Do you believe that thinking more clearly about ethical issues and moral dilemmas has any potential for helping you do what you

consider to be the right thing? In "Rethinking Ethics in Law Enforcement" Fitch states, "Officers’ peers offer friendship and informal rewards that, in many cases, hold greater influence than official recognition from the agency … [this] sense of community drives officers to adopt the behaviors, values, and attitudes of the group in order to gain acceptance". He goes on to claim that, "officers engage in certain forms of conduct to secure and maintain peer-group approval" (p. 18). As a Christian, what do you think about the author’s view on behavioral influences and values? Should loyalty to colleagues be fostered as an appropriate and necessary value? Is the code of silence justifiable in policing and corrections? Please explain. Please read Deuteronomy 16 verses 18 – 20 and Psalm 106 verse 3. Please describe the importance of ensuring our Justice System is administered by Godly leaders who possess strong character, morals, and ethics in order to live and possess the land our Lord has given. Please explain how a Biblical Worldview might lead to a different ethical approach for members in the criminal justice system. Please provide two examples. Your thread is due by 11:59 p.m. (ET) on Thursday of Module/Week 1, and your replies are due by 11:59 p.m. (ET) on Monday of the same module/week.

Answer:

So is; We need to think on the basis of moral norms, to develop qualities such as empathy, justice and goodness to seek the good of the whole of society.

Explanation:

I really consider that if the justice of our country were governed by the moral code established by the Bible, that is, by the laws of justice and impartiality that God Jehovah gave to the Israelites in the past, there would not be so much injustice, so much death, so much, prejudice, war and crime, we really need a code of moral and ethical laws that first help society, that is, people develop deep love for God and for his laws, in turn this love should prompt us to cultivate love for our neighbor and to seek his good.

Justice and loyalty is due to people who really exercise it who are fair and who do not harm anyone, corrections and advice are necessary because we are all wrong, in this we can say that no law in the hands of men really It will be fair and equitable because by nature the human being, due to his imperfection, seeks power, his own good instead of the good of others.

The deuteronomy text shows us that only a nation in the hands of officials and righteous leaders who are guided by the rules of the bible, will really succeed in their mandates and really enjoy a free and happy nation, with equal conditions for all.

ABOUT BLACK LIVES MATTER MOVEMENT

The fundamental rights and freedoms enshrined in the Constitution are inherent for all. There is no question that all people were created free and equal with certain inalienable rights. This is a universally accepted principle. Segregation and racism of the people of color in the United States has always been a subject of discussion for decades, perhaps centuries where different figures have called on the people to fight and seek for equality. This is the genesis of the question as to whether black lives matter. However different people have had the different opinion concerning the issue, and this has compelled different groups to address the issue through various means such as debates and protests.

When black people started seeking for justice and fair treatment, they were not against police but the brutality and the excessive violence that the police used against the black people and singled them out based on their race. Other than the unfair treatment that the black people received, they were also seeking a balance of power. According to observers, there are more than twice as many unarmed Black people killed by the police compared to White people.  The black people feared for their lives and no longer felt safe walking in the street.

Why did jews come to georgia? What was there importance to the colony
cestrela7 [59]

Answer:

They were originally banned from the Georgia colony, but when 42 Jewish immigrants from Europe arrived in Savannah on this day in 1733, James Oglethorpe welcomed them.

Explanation:

The migrants arrived onboard the ship William and Sarah on a trip financed by members of a London synagogue. Of the 43, 34 were Sephardic Jews, of Spanish and Portuguese heritage. The rest were Ashkenazic, of German descent. A Torah scroll they brought with them survives to this day at the Congregation Mickve Israel in Savannah, created in 1735, two years after their arrival. It is the oldest Jewish congregation in the South and the third oldest in the country. Oglethorpe’s enthusiastic welcome was due, in part, to Dr. Samuel Nunes, a Jewish physician whom the Georgia founder credited with saving the lives of many colonists suffering from yellow fever.

These Jews and their descendants would play a central role in the development of our state, after the first Jewish settlers arrived on July 11, 1733, Today in Georgia History.

Hope this Helps!
