Given: Total population of flies is 400, number of flies with red eyes is 12.

To find: The percentage of flies with red eyes.

Method: We know the total number of red eyed flies and the size of population. The percentage can be found by diving the number of red flies by the size of the population of the flies.

Solution:

Percentage of red eyed flies = \frac{12 \times 100}{400} = \frac{3\times100}{100} = 3

Hence the answer is 3% of the flies are red eyed.

The question says that in a population of 400 flies, only 12 had red eyes.

The total number of fruit flies in this case is 400.

and

The total number of flies having red eyes is 12.

To find out the percentage of fruit flies having red eyes, following formula is used:

\frac{\textup{total number of flies having red eyes}}{\textup{total number of flies}}\times 100

So, the percentage of red eye individual is;

\frac{12}{400}\times 100 \\ \\=3

Hence, the total percentage of red eye offspring is 3%.

Explain coding DNA vs noncoding DNA
Misha Larkins [42]

Answer:

Non-coding DNA sequences are components of an organism's DNA that do not encode protein sequences. Some non-coding DNA is transcribed into functional non-coding RNA molecules (e.g. transfer RNA, ribosomal RNA, and regulatory RNAs). ... Since that time, this non-functional portion has controversially been called "junk DNA".

How do humans contribute to natural selection? Help Plz
Montano1993 [528]
We are the top of the food chain, so we hunt a lot. like the way we do the fish in nets, it’s normal now for a fish to be naturally selected to be caught in the fishers’ net. humans contribute by hunting and collecting their own food even if they do it in masses just like how a cheetah catches and eats a gazel.

Describe two technological innovations that improved our understanding of human evolution.
FromTheMoon [43]

The first is gene sequencing. This allows the sequence of nucleotides on DNA of different organisms to be identified. The sequence is then compared the bigger the difference in this sequence, the stranger the organisms are with regards to the evolutionary relationship.

<span>The second is carbon dating. This enables anthropologists to determine the age of fossils by calculating the time taken, in half-lives, by particular elements to decay, such as carbon-14 </span>
