Answer and Explanation:

Regression model is basically the relationship between an independent (X) and dependent variable (Y). It may include several independent variables but there is only one dependent variable which is the subject. For example: A real estate agent wants to find out what prices he/she wants to charge for houses in a particular neighborhood.  Price is the dependent variable whereas number of rooms in a house and size of the house could be the independent variables.

In the question we see that the candy bar manufacturer wants to find out if the sales are influenced by price of their product. Therefore, sales is the dependent variable and price is the independent variable.

Y = a + bP

Y = Price

a = constant

b = coefficient of price

P= Price

A company that manages apartments decides to buy 15 new dishwashers at a list price of $550 each as replacements for old dishwas
Aliun [14]

Answer: $410 per dishwasher

Explanation: From the question above, 15 new dishwashers were bought at a list price of $550 each.

it is eligible for a $150-per-unit quantity discount because it is buying more than 10 units at once.

Financing charges total $20 per unit.

The company gets $10 per dishwasher for the 15 dishwashers traded in.

What is the final price the company will pay for each dishwasher?

Initial cost per unit is $550

Less discount of $150

Less trade in discount of $10

Add finance charge of $20

Cost per dish washer = $550 - $150 - $10 + $20 = $410.

If the exchange rate for buying Japanese Yen is 12 Yens per Dollar, how many
GuDViN [60]

Answer:

2,400 Yens

Explanation:

exchange rate for buying Japanese Yen is 12 Yens per Dollar

1 dollar : 12 Yens

how many Yens do you need to buy 200 Dollars for?

Let

x = number of Yens needed

200 dollars : x Yens

Equate the ratios to find x

1 dollar : 12 Yens = 200 dollars : x Yens

1/12 = 200/x

Cross product

1 * x = 12 * 200

x = 2,400

x = number of Yens needed = 2,400 Yens
