When you have two squares stacked on top of each other, pretend the angle in the bottom left of the top square is a 90 degree angle, that means that the angle of the square right underneath, also sharing the line, is a 90 degree angle. Or whatever you would need to get it equal to 180, my example was 90/90.

What is the first quartile of the data set below? . . 275, 257, 301, 218, 265, 242, 201
motikmotik
The first task in such exercises is to order the data in ascending order.
201,218, 242, 257, 265, 275, 301.
The algorithm to find the first quartile of a distribution of discrete observations is: If the number of observations is odd;
Exclude the median. Then, the first quartile is the median of the lower half of the observations.
If the number of observations is even, take the median of the lower half of observations immediately.
Here, we have 7 observations. The median is 257 and the observations below it are 201,218,242. The median of this is 218. Thus, 218 is the first quartile. (Similarly, 275 is the 3rd quartile).

How can i better understand how to do this?
guajiro [1.7K]

Answer:

1.5 cm/s

Step-by-step explanation:

The graph shows the speed of a worm as a relationship between the distance it can travel in centimeters over time, or seconds.  Since the graph forms a straight line, then we know that the speed of the worm is constant over time, meaning that he will move the same distance each second.  Given the point (6,9) on the graph, this tells us that the worm moved 9 centimeters in 6 seconds or:

\frac{distance}{time}=\frac{centimeters}{seconds}=\frac{9}{6}

So, the ratio of centimeters over seconds is 9/6.  However, unit rate is the distance every second or putting the ratio over '1'.  We can do this by diving the numerator by the denominator or 9 ÷ 6 = 1.5 centimers/second.

In the figure, x:y = 2:3 and y:z = 3:5. If x = 10, find the value of z. 15 20 25 30
Solnce55 [7]

x:y =x: y

10: y =2:3

2y=30

y=15

y:z=y:z

15:z=3:5

3z=75

z=25
