10. The position of a place north or south of the equator is measured in A. meridians of latitude. B. terms proportional distanc
Bogdan [553]

The position of a place north or south of the equator is described
in terms of its latitude.  Since we're talking about the surface of
a sphere, latitude is an angle, and its value is given in angle
measure.

Any unit of angle is fine ... degrees, radians, grads, etc., and if
you're given an angle in one unit, you can always easily change
it to a unit that you like better ... but 'degrees' has been the unit
used most often for latitude, and longitude too, practically since
the whole system was invented a few hundred years ago.

For parts of an angle smaller than a whole degree, 1/60 of a
degree (minutes) and 1/3600 of a degree (seconds) were used
traditionally for the first couple hundred years.  But that ponderous,
inconvenient system is rapidly giving way now to plain old decimal
degrees, probably because those are easier for the computer to handle.

A lagoon forms in shallow water. true or false
r-ruslan [8.4K]

Answer:

It is true

Explanation:

"A lagoon is a shallow body of water separated from a larger body of water by barrier islands or reefs. Lagoons are commonly divided into coastal lagoons and atoll lagoons. They have also been identified as occurring on mixed-sand and gravel coastlines. There is an overlap between bodies of water classified as coastal lagoons and bodies of water classified as estuaries. Lagoons are common coastal features around many parts of the world."

How would you measure a distance on the map that is longer then the scale bar?
nasty-shy [4]
You see how much the scale is, let's say that it is 150 mm=300 miles. If it goes over, you can measure it with a ruler, or move with your hands, measuring it as well as possible and estimating. Hope this helps! :)
