In 1846 essay titled The Philosophy of Composition, Edgar Allan Poe outlines how good writers write when they apply truth and passion which would be interesting to them. Poe thinks that length, "unity of effect" and method are important aspects of good writing. He writes that a good writing has to be short and it has to be logical, not spontaneous. Other important dimension is called "unity of effect" which shows the writer must know how to end his piece and which message to give with writing.
