Answer:

For the 9% she invested $2,300

For the 10% she invested $2,500

Step-by-step explanation:

Let the amount invested be $x and $y in both cases respectively

Since the total invested is $4,800

This means that;

x + y = 4800 ••••••••••••(i)

Now let’s have a look at the interests.

For the 9%

Interest would be 9/100 * amount invested

= 9/100 * x = 9x/100

For the 10%, interest would be

10/100 * y = 10y/100

Adding both will give a total of 457

9x/100 + 10y/100 = 457

multiply through by 100

9x + 10y = 45700 •••••••• (ii)

From equation i, we can write x = 4800 - y

we can substitute this into the second equation

9(4800-y) + 10y = 45700

43200 -9y + 10y = 45,700

43200 + y = 45,700

y = 45,700-43,200 = $2,500

Recall

x = 4800 -y

so x = 4800 -2500 = 2300

Find the standard deviation of the data, 12, 19, 9.
jek_recluse [69]

Answer:

4.19

Step-by-step explanation:

Find the mean:

\text{Mean}=\frac{12+19+9}{3}=\frac{40}{3}

Find the standard deviation:

\text{Standard Deviation}=\sqrt{\frac{(12-\frac{40}{3})^2+(19-\frac{40}{3})^2+(9-\frac{40}{3})^2}{3}}=\sqrt{\frac{158}{9}}\approx4.19

What is 0.6 as a fraction in simplest form
Illusion [34]

we know that

step 1

multiply 0.6 by \frac{10}{10}

so

0.6*\frac{10}{10} =\frac{6}{10}

step 2

Divide numerator and denominator by 2

\frac{\frac{6}{2}}{\frac{10}{2}} =\frac{3}{5}

therefore

the answer is

\frac{3}{5}

The population of mosquitoes in a certain area increases at a rate proportional to the current population, and in the absence of
Nesterboy [21]

Answer:

P=400000(2^t)-40000t

Step-by-step explanation:

The initial number of mosquitoes is 400000, and they double each day. This represents an exponential growth equation. If t represent days and P represent the population of the mosquitoes, hence this can be represented by the equation:

P=400000(2^t)

Also, the predators eat the mosquitoes at a rate of 40,000 mosquitoes/day. This means that each day, the mosquitoes reduce by 40000t, therefore this can be represented by:

P=400000(2^t)-40000t
