Answer:

He signed a bill that raised protective tariff rates.

Explanation:

A tariff is a tax on an imported good. Tariffs increase the price of foreign goods. These tariffs are usually implemented to protect American businesses, as it makes American consumers more likely to buy American goods since they are cheaper than foreign goods. This strategy has been used several different times throughout US history, including during the 1920's.

16th amendment- By enabling the implementation of a contemporary, federal income tax, the Sixteenth Amendment, which was ratified in 1913, was crucial in the development of the strong American federal government of the twentieth century.

The Clayton Antitrust Act- It defends various labor rights and specifies immoral company actions including price fixing and monopolies.

Seventeenth Amendment- Two senators from each state, chosen for six years by their constituents, will make up the US Senate. Each senator will have one vote.

Federal Reserve Act- In order to give the country a more secure, adaptable, and stable monetary and financial system, the Act of 1913 established the Federal Reserve System as the country's central bank.

How does the Bush Doctrine differ from containment policy used during the Cold War?
gregori [183]
The policies of containment used during the Cold War (which were the Truman Doctrine and the Eisenhower Doctrine) both used the economy to help out other countries to stop the spread of communism.  The Eisenhower Doctrine in addition used military forces.

The Bush Doctrine is different because it actually tried to implement democracy into other countries (such as the middle east) in an attempt to stabilize the government.
