Bacteria which are able tofix nitrogen includes azotobacter, clostridium sp.Rhizobium can also fix nitrogen through a mutualistic relationship with the roots of legumes.

When plants die, the plant parts can be broken down into amino acid which can be oxidized to ammonia.
