Answer:

Part a) y=125x+23

Part b) The graph of the equation for Aubrey's balance is parallel to the graph of Elijah's balance

Part c) Parallel graphs mean that their slopes are the same and that they deposited the same amount of $125 per week into their account balance during the summer.

Step-by-step explanation:

<u><em>The correct question is</em></u>

Elijah and Aubrey have summer jobs. Elijah deposits the same

amount of money in his account every week. The equation y = 125x + 72 represents his bank balance any given week of the summer. Aubrey also deposits the same amount into her account every week. At the end of the third week she has $398. At the end of the sixth week she has $773.

a. Write an equation to represent Aubrey's bank balance any given week of the summer.

b. Would the graph of the equation for Aubrey's balance be parallel to the graph of Elijah's balance? Explain.

c. What do the parallel graphs mean in terms of the situation?

Part a)

Let

x ----> the number of weeks

y ----> represent bank's balance

we know that

<em>Elijah</em>

y=125x+72 -----> equation A

<em>Aubrey</em>

we have the points

(3,398) and (6,773)

Find the slope m

m=(773-398)/(6-3)

m=375/3

m=125

Find the equation of the line in point slope form

y-y1=m(x-x1)

we have

m=125

point\ (3,398)

substitute

y-398=125(x-3) ----> equation in point slope form

Convert to slope intercept form

y=mx+b

y-398=125x-375

y=125x-375+398

y=125x+23 ----> Aubrey's bank balance

Part b)

Compare the equations

y=125x+72 ----> Elija's bank balance

y=125x+23 ----> Aubrey's bank balance

Remember that

If two lines are parallel, then their slopes are equal

In this problem the slopes are equal

m=125\frac{\$}{week}

therefore

The graph of the equation for Aubrey's balance is parallel to the graph of Elijah's balance

Part c) Parallel graphs mean that their slopes are the same and that they deposited the same amount of $125 per week into their account balance during the summer.

Jenson has a basket containing oranges, apples, and pears. He picks a piece of fruit from the basket 40 times, replacing the fru
katovenus [111]

Answer:In this question, we're trying to find how many apples Jenson picked from the basket.

Lets gather information that can help us.

Important information:

Picked a fruit from a basket 40 times

Probability of picking an apple is 0.3

With the information above, we can solve the question.

We know that he picked up a fruit 40 times, but we need to find how many apples he picked up during the 40 times.

The probability of picking an apple is 0.3, which is equivalent to 30%

This means that 30% of the 40 times he picked an apple.

We would multiply 40 by 0.3 to get our answer.

This means that Jenson picked 12 apples.

I hope this helped you out.

Good luck on your academics.

Have a fantastic day!

valentinak56 [21]

Answer:

A rate: a measure, quantity, or frequency, typically one measured against some other quantity or measure.

A unit rate: When rates are expressed as a quantity of 1, such as 2 feet per second or 5 miles per hour, they are called unit rates. If you have a multiple-unit rate such as 120 students for every 3 buses, and want to find the single-unit rate, write a ratio equal to the multiple-unit rate with 1 as the second term.

Hope this helps.

Which of the following is NOT a function help pls!
xxMikexx [17]

Step-by-step explanation:

In a function, the x factor will not repeat. I does not matter if the y repeats, but the x will not repeat in a true function. for example (2,4) (1,4) (5,9) is a function, but (2,4) (2,1) (5,9) is NOT a function
