<span><span>"The day is cold, and dark, and dreary/It rains, and the wind is never weary;"</span></span>

The lines that clearly depict a gloomy mood are “The day is cold, and dark, and dreary/It rains, and the wind is never weary.” Gloomy or depressed can be seen in the words cold, dark, dreary. The continued rain and wind outside also symbolize something that keeps a person inside, alone and imprisoned or not free. The word cold means lack of warmth or a feeling of belonging; while dark is often associated with fear, uncertainty and anxiety; and dreary is synonymous to lack of hope or excitement. All these description of a day are pointing to the negative side of life – a gloomy mood.

Which phrase from the excerpt best reflects Hamlet’s state of mind?
MrMuchimi
The phrase from the excerpt that best reflects Hamlet's state of mind is C. How weary, stale, ...
This is because Hamlet is weary, meaning tired, from having to decide so much what he is supposed to do. On one hand, he wants to avenge his father's death by killing his own uncle. On the other hand, he is fatigued, and quite suicidal, which is obvious from his soliloquy, To be or not to be.

Mashcka [7]

Answer:

Classical Conditioning.

Explanation:

Classical conditioning exemplifies a process of learning through association. The term was coined by Russian psychologist Ivan Pavlov, and thus, it is often called 'Pavlovian Conditioning' that illustrates the production of a new learned response from the association of two stimuli(environmental and naturally occurring). This learning process is more associated with 'behaviorism'. Juan's situation in the given question exemplifies 'classical conditioning' as his frightened state displays his 'learned response'. This learned response is the outcome of linking of two stimuli, first when he was attacked by a swarm of hornets that represents natural and another is the natural that evokes fear and dread in him 'every time he hears the sound of hornets'. Thus, the answer is '<u>classical conditioning</u>'.
