They found that things remained the same when they returned home. They knew it was time to collect on the lives, injuries, and limbs they had invested in the war and seek what was really their right such as to vote, true equality; the right to the same education as all Americans.
Women had filled men's roles in the workplace during the war while the men went to fight the battles.
