Which is a example of a situtaion this is in equilibrium
Keith_Richards [23]

An example of a  situation in equilibrium is the amount of money in a bank account never changes.

What is Equilibrium?

Equilibrium is a point where the supply and demand are perfectly equal.

Equilibrium can be of two types:

  • dynamic equilibrium
  • static equilibrium

Example of equilibrium conditions include:

Chemical equilibrium - this refers to the equilibrium that exists in chemical systems. This form of equilibrium is a dynamic equilibrium where even though conditions in the system remain constant, the molecules in the system are constantly changing.

See-saw equilibrium - this is a static equilibrium where there os no change occurring in the sytem.

An equilibrium state is reached when when the supply and demand is equal such as the case when the amount of money in a bank account never changes.

In conclusion, equilibrium state is constant and never changes.

Label the pictures with the correct phase of mitosis:
Sonja [21]

Answer:

( Going from left to right )

- Prophase -

- Telophase & Cytokinesis -

- Anaphase -

- Metaphase -

Explanation:

Prophase - Chromatin condenses making the chromosomes visible.

the nuclear envelope breaks down - makes it look like it has butterflies

Remember: The "PRO-phase" gets -butterflies- when it's about to start a race, but he lost so he starts to have a -break down-.

Metaphase - The chromosomes become aligned at the "center" or equatorial plane.

Remember: metaphase in Greek means "between" and "stage" and during this stage, the chromosomes stop moving back and forth, and also there are kept in the middle of the cell !!

Anaphase - sister chromatids separate and the resultant daughter chromosomes move toward the poles.

Remember: Sister Anna has a twin they both move out of their home and separate. One moves to the north pole and the other lives in the south pole.

Telophase - Daughter chromosomes reach the poles and form two new nuclei.

Remember: Anna and her twin settle in their new homes and both of the sisters throughout the year have two children or "nuclei" each, and also call each other on the "telephone" almost every day. :)

hope this helps <3

The light micrograph shows dividing cells near the tip of an onion root. Identify a cell in each of the following stages: propha
ad-work [718]

Mitotic division in onion root cells:

  1. Prophase: the emergence of chromatin threads that form chromosomes, the chromosomes are visible and overlap.
  2. Metaphase: chromosomes line up and line up in the middle of the equatorial plane. The centromere of the chromosome appears to have bonds with the kinetochores connected to the spindle threads.
  3. Anaphase: the centromere of the chromosome undergoes division then the chromosomes are pulled by the spindle threads towards the two opposite poles and leave the center of the equator that looks empty.
  4. Telophase: The cytoplasm divides into two identical-looking daughter cells. At the telophase stage, the process of cell division occurs in two parts and has identical properties.

Mitosis is a cell division through the stages of prophase, metaphase, anaphase, and telophase. The purpose of mitosis is for growth and regeneration which results in two daughter cells that are identical to the original parent cell. Mitosis occurs only once and lasts only during somatization.

Destruction of the majority of the adrenal cortex would most likely result in decreased levels of ___________ and glucocorticoid
Alexus [3.1K]

Answer:

Destruction of the majority of the adrenal cortex would most likely result in decreased levels of mineralocorticoids, sex corticoids and glucocorticoids.

Explanation:

Adrenal glands are conical pyramid shaped glands. A pair of glands present above each kidney. It has an outer adrenal cortex region and inner adrenal medulla. Cortex and medulla secrete different hormones and are also regulated in different ways.

Adrenal cortex has three layers:

a. Outer zona glomerulosa: secretes mineralocorticoids like aldosterone - regulates the metabolism of sodium and potassium.

b. Middle zona fasciculata: secretes glucocorticoids like cortisol - regulates the metabolism of carbohydrates, fats and proteins.

c. Inner zona reticularis: secretes sex corticoids like Androstenedione -  stimulates the development of external sexual characteristics in males.

In a condition called Addison's disease, major part of the adrenal cortex is destroyed which results in deficiency of both mineralocorticoids and glucocorticoids. Symptoms include bronze like pigmentation of skin, low BP, low plasma levels of Na+, high plasma levels of K+, nausea, vomiting and diarrhoea.
