Answer:

D. If I want to be a doctor, I have to do well in science class.

Explanation:

In the sentence given in the question, the main purpose or point of the sentence is -

in order to become a doctor, one needs to do well in the science class.

Now, according to the cause and effect relationship of the sentence, the cause is the "<u>doing well in science class</u>" part while the effect will be "<u>becoming a doctor</u>". For the latter to happen, the former has to be done first.

Thus, to rewrite the whole sentence in a correct way, it has to be written as

"<em>If I want to be a doctor, I have to do well in science class</em>", which correctly implies the cause and effect sequence of the proposed purpose of the sentence.

Amelia Earhart flew over the Atlantic Ocean is it active or passive
tino4ka555 [31]

Answer:

Yes! It is still active. The Atlantic Ocean is the second-largest of the world's oceans, with an area of about 106,460,000 km (41,100,000 sq mi). It covers approximately 20 percent of Earth's surface and about 29 percent of its water surface area. It separates the "Old World" from the "New World".

I came home to find the entire kitchen floor covered in scraps of sock:
evablogger [386]

Answer:

D. Jake tore up the main character's socks.

Explanation:

Well, all of the other answers do not make sense.

B does not make sense beacause Jake probably also eats other things and nothing in the passage says he only eats socks.

C does not make sense because nothing in the passage says Jake is the main chaecters brother.

A and D were probably the answers you were confused with.

A would kinda make sense but it is quite obvious that in the passage they do not focus on the fact that Jake brought the socks to the kitchen at all.

They focus on the fact Jake broke the sock.

So D would be a reasonable explanation and is basically the only one that makes sense.

That is my answer!
