Answer:

Answer is D. Refusing to eat

Explanation:

Slavery can be described as a situation where some people are made to do what is contrary to their aim or opinion, that is doing things against their will , simply because , they have been overpowered physically. These people are regarded or seen as slaves.

This usually occur after a war has ended, and the victorious group captures the the remaining people among the defeated group and usually sell them to other countries to make money, or force them to work for them.

In some cases, most of the slaves resist their imprisonment at sea majorly by refusing to eat. Because that is the only weapon they can use to meet some of their needs from their owners.

The owners know that health of their slaves is very important, because it is of economic importance. Since, it is only healthy slaves that can work well on their farms and anywhere they are planning to use them.

Answer:

D. refusing to eat

Explanation:

During this trade era, Africans were purchased or captured, and then forcibly transported to Europe or America through the sea using ships, during the period of transportation on the sea, they were subjected to series of horrific treatment because they were considered less human, they were being transported as goods to be sold for market purpose. Though they were generally fed and supplied with drinks as the healthy ones were more valuable, if resources ran low on the long run, they received preferential treatment.

Punishments and tortures was very common, and in some cases on the ships, the crew had to forcefully turn the independent ones into obedient humans, these various inhuman treatments and punishments leads to the resistance and rebellious act in the ships,

The most common ways for them to rebel or resist their imprisonment while at sea were either the refusal to eat food/medicine given to them or by jumping into the sea.

How is politics related to climate change? How does politics define climate change?
avanturin [10]

Answer:

i love you :)

Explanation:

The complex politics of global warming results from numerous cofactors arising from the global economy's dependence on carbon dioxide (CO2) emitting fossil fuels; and because greenhouse gases such as CO2, methane and N2O (mostly from agriculture) cause global warming.[1]

1. Implications to all aspects of a nation-state's economy: The vast majority of the world economy relies on energy sources or manufacturing techniques that release greenhouse gases at almost every stage of production, transportation, storage, delivery & disposal while a consensus of the world's scientists attribute global warming to the release of CO2 and other greenhouse gases. This intimate linkage between global warming and economic vitality implicates almost every aspect of a nation-state's economy.

2. Industrialization of the developing world: As developing nations industrialize their energy needs increase and since conventional energy sources produce CO2, the CO2 emissions of developing countries are beginning to rise at a time when the scientific community, global governance institutions and advocacy groups are telling the world that CO2 emissions should be decreasing.

3. Metric selection (transparency) and perceived responsibility / ability to respond: Among the countries of the world, disagreements exist over which greenhouse gas emission metrics should be used like total emissions per year, per capita emissions per year, CO2 emissions only, deforestation emissions, livestock emissions or even total historical emissions. Historically, the release of CO2 has not been even among all nation-states, and nation-states have challenges with determining who should restrict emissions and at what point of their industrial development they should be subject to such commitments;

4. Vulnerable developing countries and developed country legacy emissions: Some developing nations blame the developed world for having created the global warming crisis because it was the developed countries that emitted most of the CO2 over the twentieth century and vulnerable countries perceive that it should be the developed countries that should pay to fix the problem;

5. Consensus-driven global governance models: The global governance institutions that evolved during the 20th century are all consensus driven deliberative forums where agreement is difficult to achieve and even when agreement is achieved it is almost impossible to enforce;

6. Well organized and funded special-interest lobbying bodies: Special interest lobbying by well organized groups, such as the fossil fuels lobby, distort and amplify aspects of the challenge.

Which good are native to the americas and introduced to Europe in the columbina exchange
siniylev [52]

Answer:

Some of the goods that are native to the Americas but were introduced in Europe are tobacco, tomatoes, potatoes, corn, Jerusalem artichokes...

Explanation:

The Americas were two continents that were not in touch with the rest of the world. This led to a situation where these two continents had an abundance of goods that were not known to people living outside of them. When the Europeans reached the Americas, among other things, they encountered a lot of these goods and immediately saw their potential.

Through the Columbian exchange, goods like tobacco, tomatoes, potatoes, corn, Jerusalem artichokes, all found their way toward Europe. Tobacco soon became the most used recreational plant The tomatoes, potatoes, and corn became integral parts of the European diet and helped massively in the elemination of famine. The Jerusalem artichoke was used by both humans and animals, as it was very easy to grow and highly productive.

Why are there some many

car manufacturing plants in
vlada-n [284]

Answer:

Honda has announced that it will close its factory in Swindon, UK, with the loss of 3,500 jobs, and discontinue production of the Civic in Gebze, Turkey, affecting 1,000 workers.

Explanation:

Manufacturers are using the momentum of a profound transformation in the sector to close or consolidated both unprofitable auto plants and as well as profitable operations with slim margins. A falling demand for private cars among younger consumers, with a trend towards new, less individual mobility solutions means car companies are rethinking their manufacturing models globally.

General Motors is an extreme example: the company has shut a plant in Australia, sold its operations in Europe, Russia and Africa, and will close four plants in the US and one in Canada this year at a cost of almost 6,000 jobs.

Honda has announced that it will close its factory in Swindon, UK, with the loss of 3,500 jobs, and discontinue production of the Civic in Gebze, Turkey, affecting 1,000 workers.

Jaguar Land Rover will cut 4,500 jobs globally, and Nissan cancelled plans to build its new SUV in the UK. Ford is reviewing its operations in Europe, and announced that it will close the São Bernardo plant in Brazil, with the loss of 3,000 jobs.

What is behind the turmoil? Local factors, such as Brexit in Britain, influence decisions, but this is a major global restructuring: the industry needs massive investment to shift to the next stage. We need to be part of part of the conversation about managing this change.
