The First and Second Estates, comprised almost unanimously of the nobility, could always outvote the Third Estate. Since 1614, the economic power of the Third Estate had increased dramatically; in 1788, the popular call was to double the number of representatives from the Third Estate so that they'd have equal voting power in comparison with the other two estates. They wanted equal rights to vote and have representation in their government.

How did colonial leaders justify their declaration of independence from britain?
jek_recluse [69]
They listed grievances in the declaration which explained all the transgressions that the King had committed against them and why it was common sense and logic to declare independence. They explained how the king was being tyrannical and they deserved to have their freedom and be democratic instead of having a monarchy.

What is the main point being made by cartoonist?
tester [92]
I think the main point is that Britain had its tentacles spread far and wide, meaning it was involved with a number of countries. This cartoon is Russian propaganda, so I would assume that Russia was worried that Britain was taking over and becoming too powerful.
