<h2>Answer:</h2>

The number of cups of raisins will she need for four people is:

                     \dfrac{5}{8}\ cups

<h2>Step-by-step explanation:</h2>

It is given that:

Carrie couldn't find a recipe that would make four servings. She decided to use a recipe for eight servings and use only half as much of each ingredient.

i.e. she is using half  actual amount which is given for the 8 servings.

Now, it is given that:

The recipe for eight called for one and a fourth cups of raisins.

i.e. the cup of raisins used for eight servings is: 1\dfrac{1}{4}\ cups

i.e.

1\dfrac{1}{4}\ cups=\dfrac{1\times 4+1}{4}\cups\\\\i.e.\\\\1\dfrac{1}{4}\ cups=\dfrac{5}{4}\ cups

Hence, the number of cups of raisins she used for 4 people is:

               =\dfrac{1}{2}\times \dfrac{5}{4}\ cups\\\\\\=\dfrac{5}{8}\ cups

The perimeter of a rectangle is 56 cm. When its length is reduced by 2 cm and its
Svetlanka [38]
187 cm squared.

Based on rectangle:

2L + 2W = 56

Draw the square and name your sides the following:
(W+4) , (L-2), (W+4), (L-2)

Because it’s a square, all sides are equal and we can remove and solve for one of the variables but keep in mind the parameter changed..

The new parameter is 56 minus 4cm + 8cm...keep in mind I used 4cm and 8cm because we have a 2 Lengths and 2 Widths.

Solving 60= 4 (w+4)
W= 11

So the side of our square is 11+4=15

L-2 = 15
L=17

So the area of the Rectangle is 11*17=187 cm squared.

Please let me know if it’s correct !
