Hello there!

This is a difference of cubes of the form:

(a^3-b^3) which always factors to  (a-b)(a^2+ab+b^2)

So if you find the cube of each term you will have a and b for the factors above.

(216x^12)^(1/3)=6x^4  and 64^(1/3)=4 so

(6x^4-4)(36x^8+24x^4+16), So C. is the correct answer.

216x¹² - 64
8(27x¹²) - 8(8)
8(27x¹² - 8)
8(27x¹² + 18x⁶ - 18x⁶ + 12x⁴ - 12x⁴ - 8)
8(27x¹² + 18x⁸ + 12x⁴ - 18x⁸ - 12x⁴ - 8)
8[3x⁴(9x⁸) + 3x⁴(6x⁴) + 3x⁴(4) - 2(9x⁶) - 2(6x⁴) - 2(4)]
8[3x⁴(9x⁸ + 6x⁴ + 4) - 2(9x⁸ + 6x⁴ + 4)]
8(3x⁴ - 2)(9x⁸ + 6x⁴ + 4)

The answer is C.

The base of a regular hexagonal pyramid has an apothem length of 3√ in. What is the exact area of the base of the pyramid?
12345 [234]
1. To solve this problem you must apply the formula for calculate the area of a regular hexagon given the apothem, which is shown below:

 A=(Perimeter x Apothem)/2

 2. You have the apothem, so you can calculate the perimeter. First, you have to know the lenghts of the sides:

 Tan(30°)=x/√3
 x=1

 Side=2x
 Side=2

 Perimeter=2x6
 Perimeter=12

 3. Then, you have that the area of the base is:

 A=(Perimeter x Apothem)/2
 A=12x√3/2
 A=6√3
 A=10.39
 B=10.39 cm²

 The answer is: B=10.39 cm²

A regular hexagon has an area of 750.8cm². The side length is 17cm. Find the apothem.
larisa86 [58]
The formula for determining the apothem of regular hexagon is s/2tan(180/n) , where 's' is any side length of regular hexagon and 'n' is the number of sides of regular hexagon.
So, apothem = 17/2tan(180/n)
= 17/2tan(30)
= 17/1.15
= 14.78 units
Therefore, the measure of apothem of the regular hexagon is 14.7 units.
B is the right answer.

PLEASE HELP AND EXPLAIN STEP BY STEP.
SIZIF [17.4K]

A. The two listed added up will be 180 degrees.

5x - 57 + 3x + 5 = 180

8x - 52 = 180

8x - 52 + 52 = 180 + 52

8x = 232

x = 29

B. The two listed added up will be 180 degrees.

2x + 4x + 150 = 180

6x + 150 = 180

6x + 150 - 150 = 180 - 150

6x = 30

x= 5
