It began on October 24, 1929, and lasted for 4 days afterwards. Stock market prices dropped in significant rates, which lead many to lose hope and beliefs that America was in fact a wealthy nation and would help the poor become wealthy. A downturn in business cycles was taking place, and the economic crash was doing no good to anyone.
