Answer:

Two supernatural occurrences in the story are the old man that has wings and a spider girl.

Explanation:

The old man in the story is treated as a strange man of nature, not as a supernatural creature. His status of an angel is often talked about, as many consider him to be an angel.

Another supernatural characteristic of the old man is his incredible patience in the face of his treatment of people who are happy to exploit him until bored with him.

Answer:

Explanation:

The theme of this story can be: Humans tend to mistreat those they do not understand. It could be: What some view as sacred, others view as opportunities for profit, or it can be: Seek to understand those who are different. In the beginning of the story Pelayo finds this man covered in mud, and he shows his wife Elisenda. They are fascinated by him, and they ask their neighbor what he was, she tells him that he is an angel. The very next day, the whole town knows, and wants to see him, and they want help from him. Elisenda comes up with the idea to make a fence and have people pay to see this man. They don't ask him whether this is fine with him, no they stick in him with the roosters and the hens, and have people pay to see him. While Elisenda and Peloya are getting rich by this man, he is stuck with the chickens. Until Elisenda and Peloya decide to make a new home, but do they move the angel, no they leave him in the chicken coop.

Then Elisenda and Peloya get karma and they both get their son and the angel get chicken pox at the same time. The doctor who takes care of Elisenda and Peloya child, can't stop himself from listening to the angel's heart, and his kidneys, and he wonders why all men don't have wings. After awhile the angel get a temperature and this is after the shed has broke down, and the angel is moved, and he gets sick, but gets better and he flies away. This is because people stop trying to observe him, and he was not in the chicken coop laying in chicken poop.

That is why the theme can be any of the three above.

It can be Humans tend to mistreat those they do not understand. This is a possible theme because Elisenda and Peloya don't understand the angel, they don't know him, so they take advantage of him.

It can be What some view as sacred, others view as opportunities for profit. This is a possible theme because when most people think of an angel, we think of sacred being from heaven watching over us, keeping us safe, but Elisenda, and Peloya, hear from their neighbor that angel was probably trying to watch over their son, who was sick the night the angel showed up and they still used him to get rich so they could make a two story home.

It can be Seek to understand those who are different.  This is a possible theme because everyone wanted to meet the angel, they wanted to ask it for help, but the doctor, examined him, and wondered "why can't all men have wings."
