With the arrival of the Industrial Revolution, machines became the main source of power for manufacturing and transportation. Th

ese machines were mostly dependent on fossil fuels—oil and coal. The world’s economy shifted from an agrarian-based economy to an oil-based economy. Today many people believe the world needs to shift again from an oil-based economy to a clean-energy economy. Just as the move from an agrarian-based economy to an oil-based economy created a destabilizing effect on the poor and working class, how might the shift to a clean-energy economy affect today’s poor and working class? How will the shift affect less-developed nations in comparison to more-developed nations?

Oil Change International estimates that the United States spends $37.5 billion on subsidies for fossil fuels every year. While subsidies have likely increased domestic production, they’ve also diverted capital from more productive activities (such as energy efficiency) and constrained the growth of renewable energy. In Theory, less-developed nations will have a hard time keeping up with the renewable energy due the equipment cost.

What role did the United states play in china ?
DochEvi [55]

The U.S. depends heavily on China for providing the low-cost goods that enable income-constrained American consumers to make ends meet. The U.S. also depends on China to support its own exports; next to Mexico and Canada, China is America's third largest and by far its most rapidly growing major export market.
