All of these answers will be in relation to bodies of water. The trading route between the Indian Ocean and the Mediterranean Sea is called the Aden Gulf. Between the Arabian Peninsula and India lies a sea called the Arabian Sea. West of Yemen there is a body of water called Bab-el-Mandeb. East of the United Arab Emirates or UAE, is the Gulf of Oman. The body of water that separates Africa and Asia is known as the Red Sea. The Strait of Hormuz presents itself to be a challenge to shipping the region's petroleum because it is narrow and hard for ships to get through.
